Minor gaps and discolouration can keep you from smiling the way you want. Dental bonding fills these unsightly gaps and improves the overall aesthetic of your smile for a happy and healthy mouth.

Similar to other oral procedures, a dental bonding treatment begins with a consultation to create a treatment plan specifically designed for you. Your dentist will attach a malleable material similar to your tooth’s enamel to the surface of the affected teeth. This material will then be molded to match the rest of your oral structure for a natural look. Once hardened, your dentist will polish the bond to complete the restoration.

Toothaches

Toothaches can be a real pain but we’re here to help! There could be several causes for your toothache and the pain can vary from mild to severe. Some of the reasons for your toothache may be remedied at home but most require the help of a dentist. Some common problems include:

A missing or dislodged tooth can be a scary time but in some cases it’s fixable and we’re here to help you manage the pain. The best thing to do if your tooth has been knocked out or dislodged is to place it back in the socket until you can visit your dentist. Make sure to rinse your mouth, washing away blood and other harmful particles. If you cannot fit the tooth back into the socket, store it in warm milk, saline, or your own saliva. When handling the tooth, take it by the crown and not the root. Visit your dentist or an emergency room as soon as possible.

Chipped Tooth

A chipped tooth can easily ruin a smile but it is an easy fix! Chipping a tooth is actually easier than it sounds. Chipped teeth can occur from something as violent as head trauma or something as innocent as biting into a piece of food. Chipped teeth can be dangerous and potentially hazardous to your oral health so the sooner you contact your dentist the better.

As soon as a tooth is chipped, assess the damage and stop the bleeding by applying gauze or rinsing with warm salt water. If you need to take over the counter medication to relieve pain do not apply it directly to the affected area. Please contact us to set up an emergency appointment as soon as possible. At the appointment your dentist will evaluate the injury and explain a possible treatment plan. Treatment options include dental bonding or dental crowns.
